an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist and has worked in the NHS since 2011.
She has just recently joined us as a colleague in our service and offers appointments Monday day times. She has availability now and is more than suitably experienced.
She says:
I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
I have worked across the Midlands, UK, in several different NHS services, for:
I have worked with people with varied and complex needs.
My most recent roles have been in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.
I work with children and young people with a range of presentations including (but not limited to):
I have used attachment and trauma focused interventions to support children who have experienced early trauma and adversity in my role as Clinical Lead for a Specialist Service for children in care.
I often work with parents and carers to help them to understand the psychological needs of their children, which may include supporting them to understand their own experiences. I also supervise and support staff teams (including children’s home).
I have experience of working with children and their networks including:
I am especially experienced and skilled in working with people’s experiences of trauma; particularly when this trauma relates to a child or an adult’s experience of relationships with others. I have experience of working with single-event and complex trauma, and begin by increasing a child or young person’s internal resources and ability to tolerate distress, to ensure that they feel safe enough to begin.
I am flexible in my approach to working with trauma – some children prefer not to have to speak about their experience at length, whereas others want to create a clear narrative around their experience.
I am keen to think and work creatively. I am keen to integrate a child’s interests and playfulness into therapy to ensure that it feels safe, and even, sometimes fun!
Integrating helpful elements of different approaches I offer to find the best fit for each individual.
As well as my doctorate level Clinical Psychology training, I have completed additional training in:
I can use those additional psychological interventions in greater depth if/when needed.
In order to make any therapeutic change, the first step is to be able to talk openly with your therapist about how you feel. The relationship between the client and therapist is therefore of the utmost importance.
My first priority is your wellbeing. I work with clients to develop a sense of safety and security within the therapeutic relationship. This allows difficulties to be explored and processed so that you can begin to move towards resolution.
My experience will be put to good use, for you. My job is to build a shared understanding of how best to help you as an individual.
I aim to:
To help develop the clinical therapy skills of other professionals, I offer clinical supervision or reflective practice to ensure that teams have the space and time to process their work.
She is held in high regard by colleagues she works with.

“I feel the service we received was excellent.
At first, I was a bit worried about enquiring about a service I haven’t heard before as we live xx miles away (from Dr Sabrina “Brie”).
I felt that Jurai carefully listened to my concerns and I got a perfect match for our situation. I felt very positive when I read about Brie’s expertise and experience.
My child is quite fussy about whom she would see, she asked to see Brie’s profile before meeting with her and we went ahead with the assessment and sessions. It is also very telling considering the commuting.
In my experience Brie exceeded my expectations. I found her very warm, approachable, honest, non-judgemental and very supportive and encouraging.
The fact that my child went to see her for sessions after the assessment is also huge. As I said, she is very fussy about seeing professionals.
I feel that Sabrina (Brie) is a truly trauma informed professional. The word trauma is often heard and used in conversations but few professionals in my experience really and truly know how to recognise it and work with it. I feel Brie’s knowledge in attachment, neuroscience and trauma, experience, and ability to relate with adults and children are excellent. She is spot on in my view and experience.
I 100% recommend this clinical practice and I recommend Brie to other people. I know I will be referring to her. I am very grateful, thank you very much!”
